Detailed Review

Below is the complete description of Rog Zephyrus G14 and M15 laptops. Both of these laptops have the best features. Let’s check out all the pros and cons of these two laptops and see which is the best one to buy.

Rog Zephyrus G14

This new laptop is known as the Rog Zephyrus 14. One of the main things of this laptop is that this comes with a new AMD processor that’s the AMD rise in 4000 series and though it’s a fairly compact laptop. It’s a 14-inch laptop and this processor is having 8 cores and 16 threads and it’s way faster than anything. This can offer even their core i7 series so this is a very unique laptop. This is a sort of gaming laptop because the GP is also very good. This laptop is strangely actually very good even for professionals who want a laptop that has a lot of powers so that they can do video editing or heavy tasks but they don’t want to break because generally, the gaming laptops are very heavy.

This is a very interesting laptop and if it would have done one maybe two things this could have easily been one of favorite intel based CPU solution laptops at this price range for the year 2020. At least up into this point best buy for eleven hundred dollars and do believe they typically run for 12.99 so 1300. This 4.4-pound magnesium alloy chassis and plastic lid laptop because there’s a lot to love there are a few things that are a little disappointing. This six-core 10th generation intel CPU this is the 10750h have a fours crew mounting point solution for good core uniformity do appreciate this Asus. These particular CPUs they’re very special because of the rog series from asus10th generation Intel chips.

This weighs about 1.6 kilograms. Along with this laptop it gets the adapter and the cables that’s it we don’t get anything else in the box and this is a hundred and eighty-watt charger that is getting on this one. Let’s first talk about the folds and everything and it does have a lot of vents to dissipate the heat and this is for power port we have a full-size HDMI port then a type C port and this for the headphones and stuff. It has a couple of vents and proper two USB ports and this is also a type C port you can even charge it why this one this is a powered at every port and again at the back, it does have a lot of vents and in fact like many of the hey-zee us ROG. If we open it up it slightly lifts the laptop from the bottom to dissipate the heat so even if it’s only a lab from the bottom it does not feel that warm.

They get a liquid metal on the CPU only and that is awesome amazing thermal performance rarely exceeding 80 degrees Celsius. It gets 84.85 but then it tends to dial itself back down to around 77.78 degrees Celsius an amazing thermal solution they have coupled with the liquid metal and the power limitations on this are very high depending on what we use for turbo performance or silent profiles. We can set this up manual. One of the cool things about these rog laptops is that upon a cold boot, not a reboot if the system is powered down hold down the f2 key power on the system and this will get into the bios where you can have access to the advanced bios tab and from there can undergo the core voltage offset that’s right can under volt in the bios by holding down f2 upon a cold boot into the Zephyrus m15.

This laptop is white and it has other colors too. This great colored one and if noticed at the back this area is a LED display also a matrix. This can be customized however we want it to be displayed on this one. This one also has a 2k display whereas this white one is having that 1080p apart from that it’s the same. The keyboard is nice on this one the power button has embedded windows logon. It works very well and this has a 14-inch screen it’s a matte screen. The highest brightness is that it goes up to 1080p as you can go to display settings this can go up to 1080p that Full HD but this is the 120-hertz screen so might be ideal for Chema’s whereas the other one can go up to 2k about that 60 Hertz and even though this one the screen quality is good. It has dual speakers over here front-firing and even at the bottom and the speaker quality is good to give an idea about the 1 plus 8 the 1 plus 8 Pro. The speakers will be loud is very good and they do have a little bit of depth towards it so that’s nice. The AMD rise in 4th series as a blazingly fast ship that’s very fast.

Highly recommend testing this in software first 10th generation intel chips do not under volt nearly as far as ninth-generation does not under volt nearly as far as the eighth generation. A 50 millivolt under volt is kind of the standard nearly guaranteed under volt that should be able to get out of these chips in 80 millivolts. This could be very close to the blue screen of death when rounding errors, the best thing could do is maybe do this in software with xt or throttle stop. Once you are confident within your testing then proceed to under volt inside the bios but be a careful push too far could break. The system just a little tip f2 upon a cold boot advanced bios tab will give access to under voting on these rog 10th generation intel CPU laptops.

This is probably the best form factor for the same. This is a bit thicker, but when we look at the overall footprint and overall weight it is actually quite a bit lighter and it also has covered better in terms of the port situation. If you look at it on the MacBook pro all we get is four USB type-c ports and an audio jack as well. That’s not bad USB type-c ports are great and it’s better than having a micro USB port. For example, at times you need a USB type-a port in the particular case we are using a camera tether to the laptop to shoot have to go and make use of a dongle like this with a USB type c port and also have to use the same thing. If we want to connect voiceover mic and a bunch of other accessories which still use USB type that way the g14 is much better it comes with two USB type ports these are USB 3.2 gen1 ports and you also have two USB type-c ports one on this side and one on the other side. They are USB 3.2 gen2 ports out of which the one on the left side even has display port 1.4 as well as power delivery.

The webcam quality of this laptop is pretty bad. The new RDS at first and 15 a laptop that doesn’t do anything super crazy like add a second screen or open up a bit for extra performance or last 10 hours on a battery. It is a nicely balanced all-around machine. It is thin and light it has a ton of power especially with that RT X 27 is super the keyboard and the touchpad are nice to work on. The 4k IPS display is just excellent. This M 15 is more a machine for people that value a better display with better colors and higher resolutions than cheaper gaming panels have to offer which can be good for both creative work and that epic triple-a immersion gaming.

Rog Zephyrus G14

Asus should have been bundling webcams with this especially in 2020 where a lot of people are using it. If they don’t have one on board at least they could give an external one because it doesn’t cost, all that much especially when we look at the number of laptops that they sell. The backlighting is pretty even but if you look at it in a dark room with a black background, actually see some unevenness here and there but then again this is only when we nit-pick and look at it in you know very dim lit scenarios but for the regular users don’t come to know this at all. This comes with the 76 watts of battery and it is rated for over 10 hours of usage on a single charge in our usage we got easily nine plus hours so we would say that their claims are more or less true and also for 4k editing we did a 4k editing test and this was able to hold on good for around two and a half to three hours of editing 4k video which is pretty impressive.

Rog Zephyrus M15

Coming to the battery that 76-watt hour battery was good for around four to five hours. We could watch YouTube videos or movies and get a longer runtime at half brightness with the RGB keyboard turned off. It gets eight or nine hours and able to see this idle for just a little bit over 10 hours but realistically speaking when you use the laptop unplugged generally going to see around four to five hours unplugged and if you’re hammering away at some editing solutions or Photoshop or gaming then you’re going to shrink that down quite a bit. Usually, gaming unplugged only going to get about an hour and a half and that’s not something feature on the channel. Because that’s not something we recommend draining a battery that fast is usually not a good thing so expect four to five hours unplugged from the wall for those out there that we’re concerned about maybe blocked ventilation on this model. There’s no such thing right on this particular laptop we do have really good airflow and once again great temperatures. The display of this laptop is the elephant in the room for we do have a full HD IPS type panel it is 144 hertz but it is at 66 standard RGB 298 nits.

Compared to Rog Zephyrus G14 and M15, we found that Rog Zephyrus G14 is the best laptop to buy. Because this got 103 fps it was high and the CPU score as multi-core as 1836 and we are getting a score of about 190 so significantly faster. The semi bench released 20 and for the CPU the multi-core got a score of 4222 which is very high and the single-core was 490 and the processor is really good and combined with that GPU. The performance is very good another thing is that even the base variant will come with font well gigabytes of SSD so that’s good and you can go up to up to one terabyte even in terms of RAM it’s said that will come between 8 and32 gigabytes of RAM.
