Detailed Review

Design

HP Envy 13

Coming to the design part of HP Envy 13 it’s a beautiful laptop very sleek it’s very elegantly designed. It is a slim and lightweight notebook slash laptop. It is only twelve point nine (12.9) millimeters in thickness so it is very well designed in that sense and it looks very much like mac book. From behind you have these angles got your advanced grill speakers located just above the keyboard. You have got your headphone jack and got SD card and motor as well then there is other two USB 3.0 ports and HDMI port on the power jack. ON the deck is a slim power button with an LED strip, opposite a fingerprint sensor. The Envy 13 sits on its flat back edge, which drops below the base when you lift the lid and angle the deck slightly downward. Though it is slim and lightweight we can carry it very handily in the bag. This has the best speaker the sound is provided by Bang and Olufsen and it’s one of the best sounding speakers on a laptop the bass treble the Mint’s the sound everything on this laptop is so perfect.1080p non-touch display on the base Envy 13 is just good as the 4k touch option. It comes in four different modes they are laptop mode, tent mode, tablet mode, stand mode.

HP Envy 15

HP Envy 15 is designed to be bigger in a size to pack more components. It has some elements from HP Envy 13 model. It weighs 4.74 pounds or 2.13 kilograms. The metallic lid has a matte finish with the HP logo sitting in the center. On the left side, we have the power port a USB type port that can charge the devices even when a machine is in sleep, and HDMI 2.0 port two thunderbolts 3 ports, micro SD card slot. We also have a headphone microphone combo jack and another USB port. Looking into internals there is two sim slot that allows us to upgrade the RAM also two M2 slots to swap out storage options and wi-fi six and Bluetooth card is soldered. The sides are notably thick but HP designers have cleverly masked the bulk with sharp lines and ridges. It comes with 10th gen intel core i7 running at 2.6 gigahertz with a boost up to 5 gigahertz so this is a 6 core 12 thread CPU in addition to the integrated graphics. It has NVIDIA RTX 2060 max-q now while the max-q version is not the same as the desktop GPU it performs well enough to carry the NVIDIA RTX studio label. There are 16 gigs of ddr4 ram on a board that is user upgradeable and there is 512 gigabyte SSD along with 32 gigs of Intel Optane memory and wi-fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 which is great for fast connectivity and gigabit file transfer speeds. The display on this laptop is a 60 hertz 15.6inch 4k or 3840×2160 AMOLED touchscreen with a 16×9 aspect ratio and HDR 400 support hp claims 400 nits of brightness.

Display

HP Envy 13

Its display is most beautiful and it is an IPS clear screen FHD display the color accuracy is very accurate in different angles and it’s comfortable to look at the colors just pops the processor is also slightly powerful. The display is multi-touch h2h corning gorilla glass so it’s very durable scratch resistant and indestructible it comes with touch and pen support therefore, the display can identify whether it’s a touch or touch from the pen. 1080p non-touch display on the base Envy 13 is just good as the 4k touch option. While both touch screen panels are very sharp and bright, the FHD version is even more vivid than a higher-res panel. The Envy 13’s FHD and 4K panels look fairly vibrant because of how bright they get. At 411 nits of brightness on the 1080p panel and 397 nits of peak luminance on the 4K display.

HP Envy 15

The display of HP Envy 15 comes with a 15.6-inch display. It has got a good amount of brightness and touch screen 4K display o3840x2160 AMOLED touch screen with 16×9 aspect ratio and HDR 400 support HP claims 400 nits of brightness and found that to be true the display unit measured slightly above 400 nits and it covers 100 SRGB and 95 adobe RGB so for doing color-critical work that requires screen accuracy HP delivered with this machine while this display is a winner for content creators using lightroom photoshop premiere pro or Davinci resolve those interested in entertainment should be satisfied with the vibrant colors and deep blacks we get here and the display is glossy. This is a touch screen with multi-touch support so navigating web pages is fast and easy using just your finger.

Battery

HP Envy 13

HP claims that the average battery life on this laptop is 12.5 hours with the AMD Rison this is a very bold statement but its not quite a genuine statement and it also claims that the computer supports fast charge which can charge up to 50 percent in 45 minutes now that is not fast charge. The FHD model endured for 11 hours whereas the 4K model lasted only 4 hours 30 minutes.

HP Envy 15

Battery life is one of the important features that a laptop must have to be on top and trending. HP claims that we can get up to 6 hours and 45 minutes with mixed-use at 150 nits of brightness I got right at 6 hours to mark while browsing the web and watching videos on YouTube if streaming Netflix, can expect a bit less. This laptop does not have better battery life by a long shot.

Performance

HP Envy 13

Allround system performance is pretty snappy. It has got a nice keyboard that works pretty well but it’s not good for office workers as it has a small return key, usually, office workers are used to the large return key. Touchpad control was quite good to fingers grove was generally smooth no problems with a little bit jerky. There is one nice feature here that is Bang and Olufsen speakers which can be seen flanking the keyboard on either side so that is a very nice addition to have also down here something money Windows users will be crying out for is biometric to a fingerprint scanner. Video playback is good.

HP Envy 15

HP Envy 15 comes with 10 gen intel core i7 10 750 running at 2.6 gigahertz with a boost up to 5 gigahertz so this is a 6 core 12 thread CPU in addition to the integrated graphics it has NVIDIA RTX 2060 max-q now while the max-q version isn’t the same as the desktop GPU it performs well enough to carry the NVIDIA RTX studio label so it’s going to be great for creators and casual gamers alike there is 16 gigs 0f DDR4 ram onboard that is user upgradable. With fiber internet it has vapor chamber cooling technology inside that manages the temperature of both CPU and GPU very well.

Conclusion

Overall they both have their good features and bad to choose from. Now coming to HP Envy 13 it is a very slim laptop and travel friendly and comes in an attractive design and has the best speaker. It comes in touch and non-touch display. Its display is most beautiful and it is an IPS clear screen FHD display the color accuracy is very accurate. The display is multi-touch h2h corning gorilla glass so it’s very durable scratch resistant and indestructible it comes with touch and pen support therefore, the display can identify whether it’s a touch or touch from the pen. Speaking about HP Envy 15 it is designed to be bigger to pack more components. It has some elements from HP Envy 13 model. It weighs 4.74 pounds or 2.13 kilograms thus we can say it is not travel-friendly. The display of HP Envy 15 comes with a 15.6-inch display. It has got a good amount of brightness and touch screen 4K display o3840x2160 AMOLED touch screen with 16×9 aspect ratio and HDR 400 support HP claims 400 nits of brightness. So considering all the good and bad features if you are for a light-weight laptop HP Envy 13 is a travel-friendly and great option for students and casual users and is worth buying but if there is heavy work or gaming then HP Envy 15 it is.
